Hydrangea and Gardenia

We’re relatively new to sugar flowers.  And by relatively, we mean very.  One sugar flower artist that inspires us is Jacqueline Butler of Petalsweet.  Her flowers are gorgeous and the fact that she is willing to share her knowledge with so many aspiring sugar flower makers is really great!  You can pay for a tutorial on Craftsy, check our her blog for some tutorials, or (if you are fortunate and somewhat affluent enough) you can take a class from her in person!

We have chosen the free tutorial route on her blog.  :)  This is our very first try at hydrangeas and gardenias.

Our first hydrangea ever!

What you don’t see pictured is the other 8 or so hydrangea that didn’t quite make it. :(  Hopefully we’ll get enough practice to eventually make a full bunch of hydrangea flowers just like how they naturally grow!
